Legacy Lamb is seeking a dedicated farm intern for the full grazing season.
This position is for a hard-working self-starter who wants to put their drive and passion to work in a real-world, small-scale livestock system. Our interns are steady, thoughtful, and adaptable — hard to knock down, quick to get up, and able to meet challenges with humor and critical thinking.
About the Farm
Legacy Lamb is a small-scale, queer-owned sheep farm located just north of Bellingham. I raise 100% grass-fed Icelandic sheep in natural family groups. My work centers on hyper-local, fully traceable food and fiber systems that prioritize animal welfare, ecological health, and community relationships.
Land Stewardship & Farming Approach
Legacy Lamb is built around comprehensive, holistic land stewardship. Farm systems include:
Managed-intensive rotational grazing
Silvopasture grazing paddocks
Livestock fodder crop plantings
Homestead-scale perennial food and medicinal plantings
I believe intentional, well-managed livestock grazing is a critical — and often misunderstood — tool for climate resilience. My management decisions prioritize soil health, biodiversity, watershed function, and long-term ecosystem vitality.
Internship Experience
Interns assist with all aspects of flock and farm management throughout the grazing season. This includes hands-on daily livestock work, pasture moves, infrastructure projects, and participation in the rhythms and realities of a working regenerative farm.
This is a physically demanding, immersive experience designed for someone who wants to deepen their practical skills, ecological understanding, and capacity as a land steward.
